Pam's Prescott Blog

Once again, I have to share another reason why Prescott is "everyone's home town:" our great parades.

Last weekend, I took my girls - and our foreign exchange student - out to the square to watch the Prescott Parade of Lights.  We met up with some friends who had brought hot chocolate.  We all sat on the curb with our blanket and our cocoa, enjoying the chilly night air, watching each glowing float drive past with our fellow Prescottonians.  Our favorites were the Dog Drill Team and the Yavapai Tribe's beautiful American-themed float which was absolutely stunning.  My older daughter also cheered on her friend, who, along with his mother had built a float showing the Empire State Building with a huge Grinch atop it, batting at airplanes.

A not-so-great picture of one of the floats.

This weekend, we had the Christmas Parade and the Courthouse Lighting, which unfortunately, we had to miss.

Next Friday, we will be out for Acker night, when over 100 musical acts play at venues all around the square and residents go from shop to shop listening  to the wonderful sounds and greeting friends and neighbors.

I'm going to start adding pictures to my blog, so I'll see what I can come up with!

Until then, happy holidays to all!
